LDC Director Coach Crites

Coach Allison Crites, a native of Lubbock, Texas, began her diving career at the age of 12 with the Lubbock Dive Club. She quickly developed a strong passion for the sport, which she continued to pursue through her competitive years at Hutchinson Middle School and Lubbock High School. During her high school career, she was a two-time state qualifier and a four-time varsity letter recipient. Coach Crites went on to attend the University of North Texas in Denton, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. While at UNT, she was a valued member of the Mean Green Swimming and Diving Team,. Following her undergraduate studies, she completed a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2020.

Her coaching career began at Iron Horse Aquatics in Frisco, Texas, where she served for two years before accepting the position of Head Diving Coach for Lubbock ISD. Now entering her third year in this role, Coach Crites is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, discipline, and growth within the district’s diving program. She is dedicated to helping student-athletes reach their full potential both in the pool and beyond.

Coach Ruiz began his diving career in 7th grade at Ed Irons Middle School and continued competing at Coronado High School, where he set multiple school records, was a two-time UIL State Qualifier, earned High School All-American honors, and served as team captain. As a club diver, he reached national success as an AAU National Champion on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards.

He continued his athletic and academic journey at Texas A&M University, competing for four years on the collegiate diving team. During his time with the Aggies, he served as team captain and was a three-time NCAA Zone Championships qualifier.

Now entering his third year with Lubbock Dive Club, Coach Ruiz also serves as the Assistant Diving Coach for Lubbock ISD. He brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a deep passion for the sport to the next generation of divers.

Coach Anna

Coach Anna is a proud alumnus of Lubbock Dive Club, Ed Irons middle school, Coronado High School, and Southern Illinois University. Her diving journey began at the age of 13 when he unexpectedly landed a spot on the dive team after trying out for swimming.  With over a decade of diving experience and more than four years of coaching, Coach Anna brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her athletes. In addition to coaching, Coach Anna works in the medical field as a heart mapper for cardiac arrhythmias with Abbott Electrophysiology. She has worked in electrophysiology for over seven years, with her primary location based in San Angelo. Though his professional schedule—particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays—can limit her availability, she remains deeply committed to Lubbock Dive Club and makes every effort to attend practices and support her divers whenever possible. She is enthusiastic about being part of the coaching team and looks forward to connecting with athletes and their families throughout the season.
